Hard Drive – At least 10Gb of free space with at least 1Gb additional space for custom content.CPU – Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4Ghz or better. But if your Mac meets these minimum system requirements then there's a pretty good chance it should work. No one can say 100% the game will run on your Mac because you may have conflicting software, or your Mac may be in dire need of some basic housekeeping. Please remember one very, VERY important thing. which had a SSD instead of flash memory). And has always applied to the MacBook Airs (apart from the first gen. Same goes for some of the more recent iMacs. Well, you can but you need to be technically proficient and it will invalidate any warranty or Applecare you have on the machine.

If you have a retina MacBook Pro you cannot upgrade RAM or memory to free up more space. Remember, different operating system/different drivers, even though the hardware is the same. If you’ve Boot Camped your Mac and you can play The Sims 4 well, this is absolutely NO indication of how well the game will play in OS X.

All signs indicate that The Sims 4 will be native to Mac, as The Sims 1 and The Sims 2 were.

Your game thinks it’s running in Windows, not OS X. Remember that The Sims 3 runs so appallingly on Macs because EA used Cider to make the game OS X compatible. If you have a 13″ MacBook Pro (non-retina) with one of the integrated Intel cards, and it has 384Mb VRAM, you can increase this to 512Mb VRAM by upgrading the system RAM to 8Gb. The same goes for the Intel Iris and Iris Pro cards.

If you have a Mac which has the Intel 3000 or Intel 4000* or Intel 5000 graphics cards, you should be fine. These are more recent and powerful than the Intel Core 2 Duo stated in the CPU requirements. If you have a Mac that has an i3, i5 or i7 processor, you should be fine. I hope this helps! Get it.I have already posted this on my blog because so many people are asking this question.

(stock internal HD is 160gb 5400rpm HD so it spins slower) Now I am kickin butt with my 13" MBP and it does everything and anything I need it to do. (which is also what I did) I have a lot of music and movies so I upgraded to a seagate momentus 500gb 7200rpm HD. BUT the good news is if you somehow come close to filling it up OR just want the bigger HD in there for future needs and faster boot times and better performance, then you can actually go ahead and find an internal HD and do it yourself as well. Now if you are worried about HD space because you think you will fill up a 160GB HD, which I doubt you will if you don't have a TON of music or movies on your computer, then you will also be fine.

Me being a broke college student and trying to save money at all times, I went ahead and got 4gb of ram cheap and am going to install it myself. If you are worried about ram, then you can always upgrade it yourself (which is what I did) and it is cheaper then buying the upgrade from apple (recent discussion you save 31+ dollars). However it doesn't seem like you are going to be doing that kind of stuff so the 2.26ghz processor will definitely do the job. The only reason you would spend the extra cash is if you were going to be doing some video rendering, photoshop, intense applications. I looked up the minimum specs and it says that you have to have pentium 4 at least (that has a intel core 2 duo 2.26ghz processor), need at least 2gb of ram (yours comes with 2gb), and with 160gb hd will be enough space Since you are only going to be playing primarily the sims 3, it would be fine. I think you should be fine with just the basic mac.
